WILL HYPERDECK MINI PLAY FILES EXPORTED TO SD CARD FROM MAC

PostFri Jun 15, 2018 12:51 am

If I were to edit a programme in FCPX and export the finished work to an SD Card as a ProRes422 (.mov) file, would I be able to replay it on the Hyperdeck even though it was not recorded on it? Thanks.

Not sure about FCPX, but we use it in a similar way.
We export DNxHD from Davinci Resolve and use the Hypedeck Mini as a Player. It's only very 'picky' about the codecs it supports. It works for us, but caused a lot of trial and error.

Thank you for your reply, laurensdekock. The deck is certainly compatible with FCPX, allegedly, when generating files on it. However it is amazing how many industry distributors can't answer the question. I hope it's not an expensive mistake as I await delivery. Thanks.

So, now I have the player the answer is Yes, it will play an exported ProRes file from FCPX. I formatted the SD card in the deck. BUT when connecting the deck to a TV via the HDMI socket I only get sound. Any thoughts anyone please?
