Decklink card HD and 4K out at the same time

PostSun Jul 22, 2018 1:10 am

I have read the info on the web site but still can't find the answer.

Can any of the decklink cards output an HD signal on one output and a 4K signal on another output at the same time?

BNC connections assumed, not HDMI

thanks

I'm doing exactly that on the DeckLink 4K Pro, but unfortunately BMD stopped selling that model when they launched the 8K Pro recently (which doesn't have that feature, at least not at the moment).

The 4K Extreme 12G does have down conversion to HD, but I don't know if the outputs can be separated.

This works, but for the same signal (HD is just downconversion for the main signal).
Only 4K Extreme 12G and UltraStudio 4K Extreme 3 can do it (and discontinued 4K PRO).

Roger,

it seems this card is still available in some parts of the world and also used.

I'll get onto the search today for a Decklink 4K Pro (with the 5 BNC connectors)

Thanks again....

Hi Jack! We've been doing just that for several years now ever since we installed the Decklink SDI 4K Pro which has two SDI outputs with built in hardware down-scaling to HD on SDI #2.

We send SDI #1 to our 4K Client TV (via 12G SDI to HDMI converter) and SDI #2 to our Calibrated REC.709 IPS Grading Monitor via an SDI to Display Port Converter where we see 10bit RGB 4:4:4.

Works a treat but be aware that Pro SDI card requires 8 dedicated CPU lanes...

Good to know Craig.
I hope my dual CPU Mac will be OK...
