DNxIQ UHD + HD Monitoring

PostThu Dec 05, 2019 2:00 pm

I'm running a Win10 install of Media Composer 2018.12.7 with a DNxIQ. I can't seem to figure out how to monitor UHD 3840x2160 30p over HDMI, while simultaneously getting a 1920x1080 HD downconvert feed to my Flanders and Decklink scopes. The UHD feed works correctly, I get no signal over SDI. Is there an option somewhere I'm missing? The DNxIQ is running 11.0 driver.

If I switch to HD 1920x1080 project in Avid, all my monitors work correctly so it's not a wiring issue.

Thanks,
Kevin

It may do what you want, but other way around when it comes to SDI vs. HDMI

Looks like main signal must be set to UHD and taken from SDI A. HD comes either from C/D or HDMI when connected to HD only TV. You may need additional HDMI converter if you need UHD over HDMI.

"Ultra HD Down Conversion
Built in, high quality hardware down converter outputs Ultra HD to HD with down-converted signal on SDI outputs C & D and HDMI output when connected to an HD-only TV."

That was it! I needed to switch to output C, and it will default to an HD output with UHD over HDMI. A/B are for dual link feeds. Thanks!
