Cinema DNG help

PostFri Dec 20, 2019 7:05 pm

I was recently the DP for a project and we used the URSA Mini for the production. I used the compression rate 3:1. I loved the way the image came along, however, once I drag the files into Premiere it's saying there's an error with the files. I can edit on Davinci just fine but I'm a bit more comfortable on Premiere than on Davinci. Is there anyway I could transcode the files and still have the raw functionality of it on Premiere like to a Braw file?

Thanks for the help!

Nope, PPro is only supporting uncompressed DNG, so better use Resolve.

If you insist on Adobe, why not transcode to lightweight proxies in Resolve, do your editing in PPro and round-trip for final grading in Resolve?

Another alternative: do a first-light grading in Resolve, transcode to high quality Cineform or DNxHR and finish in PPro.

This thread demonstrates for the n-th time how important it is to test your workflow before shooting!
