scanned w/ Cintel 2- change TC metadata on .cri files?

Happy New Year everyone.

Using the Cintel 2 I scanned a roll of film and now I want to change the TC metadata of the .cri frames.
I want the image sequence to start with a different timecode.

Can't seem to do it through Resolve, and the metadata editor I was able to find, QT change, doesn't work with .cri files. I'm not a coder of any sort, and so am unable to even start on working on any information headers in an image file.

I can't re-scan the film.
Client wants .cri files.

Any ideas?

I solved this by changing each frame number in the image sequence. Since I wanted an hr 8 start, I changed the first frame number to 691200 with ascending #s for the rest of the files. This is a 24fps project, so I'm not sure if it would import differently timebase-wise in other projects. Also not sure if this is done correctly, but it seems to work.

Yes, you're bringing back memories of Spirit scans that I did many years ago in the late 1990s-early 2000s for various projects. We did sometimes have to use 3rd party utilities to change the numbering conventions to get the timecodes to line up for different projects.

My favorite file-renaming utility is Better File Renamer (for Windows):

It's cheap as dirt and very useful. There's a lot of stuff I do where I couldn't get by without utilities like this in post, especially if there's been a massive problem with the way the client has named the files. The ability to generate custom ascending numbers for file names is a simple option.

We provide examples that build out of the box on all platforms, so any coder knowledge required to do basic things is pretty minimal.
