Hi!
I am trying to connect my HP Dreamcolor z27x G2 Studio monitor to my iMac with the Ultrastudio Mini Monitor.
The iMac is from 2017 and has OS Catalina 10.15.2. It has two Thunderbolt 3 ports on the back. But the BMD UltraStudio Mini Monitor has Thunderbolt 2. Therefore I am using a TB3 to TB2 adapter and then a TB2 cable from Apple. Would this be a problem for the BMD UltraStudio Mini Display somehow??
If I connect the external display directly with a USB-C cable (3.1 Gen 1) that came with the display it works. My screen extends over to the HP display.
I have installed BMD Desktop Video that came with the Ultrastudio Mini Monitor, version 11.0. I can see the UltraStudio Mini Monitor there and I can make settings etc.
But the HP display is completely black. It says it doesn't get a video input signal.
As you can see in the enclosed picture, the BMD UltraStudio Mini Monitor lights up, so it gets some kind of signal from my iMac, but it doesn't seem to get in to the HP display.
Any ideas for a solution to make this work? Pls help!
