Comparison of NVIDIA Quadro 4000 and GTX 570

Hi,
Just wonder which is faster if I use two NVIDIA Quadro 4000 cards or if I just use one NVIDIA GTX 570 on MacPro ?

Since the 4000 is a single, make sure you plug the computer display in the quadro.
I dont rem if the 570 is dual.

Im planning to do same with a quadro 4800 (dual) as GUI and 4000 as GPU.

That's correct, the GTX 570 is double width.

When we researched this for our grading set-up, the Quadro 4000 was compliant and the GTXs we're mostly hacked cards. We dont do hacked gear at my corp.
Purchased a few of the Quadro's and their fine.
If we really wanted true grading power, we would have gone the Linux route.

If it was my own personal grading system, Id be loading a CUBIX with three GTX hacked cards

Slightly off topic...

I've used a GTX470 from macvidcards in a Resolve 8 on MacPro. Did several projects, and some dailies gigs. Then I bought a Q4000 and placed it in the same system. I'm seeing faster renders. Have yet to do a proper side by side and confirm, but my feeling is, for Resolve it looks like the Q4000 is faster than the GTX470.

More than slightly off topic...
Someone I know is using Resolve on a new (non-Retina) MBP 15" with the GT650m with 1 GB. And he reports faster then GTX speeds doing dailies renders. Again, not a side by side compare.

Benchmarking sites seldom show Resolve performance. They mostly have some AE, Photoshop and Premiere even gaming comparisons.

Could it be that your on Lion?
I cant comment on Mountain Lion yet since I haven't updated any major workstation to it.
There is also driver issues that come up time to time.

maybe pc version of 470 is slower ?
