no audio input

PostThu Sep 20, 2012 1:03 pm

I have a Blackmagic Intensity Pro on a Mac Pro running Lion. The RCA audio input on the Blackmagic appears to be very flaky. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't for no apparent reason. I've tried restarting, messing with system preferences etc to no avail. Any ideas?

Resolved. It's down to not having video coming in too. Strange but true.

It's fairly typical. We use the Video input as a timing source for the audio. So if you don't have video the audio will not work. However, it's fairly easy to strip off the video after it's captured, but it does use extra space.

Ideally i'd like an option to select at capture time to not capture audio. You'd still have to have the video plugged in, but it would only write audio files.
