Autosave speed Postgresql vs File database

PostWed Aug 22, 2012 10:46 pm

I have just upgraded my Resolve system. It's much faster, but (auto)saving my project seems to take a lot longer than on the old system. On the old system I was using a Postgresql database. When I installed Resolve on the new system I went with the default file based database (on a Raid0 disk).

The project is an 18 minute timeline, autosave takes appr. 14 seconds which tends to become interruptive after a while.

Does saving a project take longer with file based databases? If so, why is this now the default when installing Resolve?

Thanks in advance for information on this,

Winfried

Saving in v9 is a little longer for both PostGres and Disk DB as there are so many more features and metadata to save. We will keep working to improve this.
