I have troubles with files that was rendered from Nuke in linear color space. The native input was way too dark. When I imported the files in AE – everything looked fine, like in Nuke, but DaVinci did a complete other interpretation of the color space.
I loaded the sequence into Speedgrade, and it was too dark as well, but I found a LUT called Gamma 2.2. When I applied it in Speedgrade, it worked fine.
So I copied all the LUT files from the speedgrade folder to DaVinci. And – surprise – they showed up – most of them. – and you guessed it – not the Gamma 2.2 Lut.
I opend the LUT folder and took a look into the files with notepad – any other working LUT file was full of some weired numbers. I guess DaVince needs them to calculate the new colors. In the Gamma2.2 LUT was only:
SourceGamma = 1.0; //Gamma of the source material
TargetGamma = 2.2; //Gamma of the display device
It seems that DaVinci is not capable of handling iluts like this….
So far, I didn´t find a solution for this topic.
Maybe you can help me with this issue.
Thanks a lot,
