Ultrastudio Recorder 3g not recognized

Hey all,

Not much on this in the forum so I thought I'd ask. I'm getting an OBS stream up and running and am using the UltraStudio Recorder 3g going via TBolt 3 (USBC) to a retina iMac from 2017 running Mojave. I downloaded the right app I guess...Desktop Video 11.6 which I guess is the last version for Mojave. When I plug in the Recorder I get a notification in the corner "Cannot use Thunderbolt accessory" and "Connect accessory to a thunderbolt port on this Mac". The little led on the recorder doesn't come on too. Is it the cable? I have an apple thunderbolt 3 cable. I also made sure to unplug all other devices and tried both ports. Nothing. Thanks!

Is that the UltraStudio Mini Recorder with TB2?
If so, it'll only work with an original Apple adapter or with the Akitio T3T, which is cheaper, but hard to find these days.

Hi, no it's the UltraStudio Monitor 3G with TB 3/ USB-C

It will only output 720p / 576i @ 50hz while using Resolve.
The Dekstop Video app doesn't store any changes I make to the resolution.

Hi, I had the same error. I just used another cable. I'm pretty sure the first cable I used (which didn't work) was compatible and thunderbolt 3, but whatever. Try a different cable!
