Misdetection of Decklink Quad inputs on OS X 10.8.5

PostSun Sep 29, 2013 5:46 am

Hello,
I've recently encountered a strange issue with my Decklink Quad and Mac Mini running OS X 10.8.5.
The system detects the individual Decklink SDI cards in the wrong order - e.g., signal from the device connected to the 1st card shows up as the 4th card. After reboot it moves, e.g., to the 2nd card, sometimes to the right place (1st card), but it's pretty much a guessing game.
This seems to have been caused by a recent OS update because I haven't installed any new software and reverting back to an older version of Desktop Video has no effect either.
I have a complex scripting setup where each signal is assumed to appear under its original card, hence it is quite annoying. I wonder if BMD and other users with similar setups could test it at their end.

Thanks,
Martin

Same problem here but with two "Intensity Pro" PCIe cards. Devices are recognized in different order each time we reboot the machine.

I have tested on two different Mac Pros (early 2009 and mid 2010) and the problem appeared after the 10.8.5 MacOS X update. I've installed the latest BlackMagic Drivers 9.7.8 with no luck.

It's a nice thought… going back to 10.8.4… however, it is next to impossible to do so given the 10.8 installer. If you don't have a backup of your hard drive pre 10.8.5, you're not going to get this back!

The fastest solution should be making a fresh install into a different Hard Drive. Later you might use the Migration Assistant.

Same problem on 10.8 and now Mavericks. It seems to happen somewhat randomly that the inputs change.

Seems fixed with the Desktop Video 9.9.3 driver.
