TGA & JPEG FILE FORMATS NOT SUPPORTING

PostFri Sep 28, 2012 4:59 am

HI,
We are using Resolve 9.0 and trying to access tga and jpeg format inputs and render to mov. It is not able to see the video in resolve 9.0.1. Please give me the solution. But in your website mentioned:
Choose from a huge range of file formats including CinemaDNG, DPX, CIN, QuickTime, DNxHD and native RAW files with full de-bayer all in real time. You can even work with TIFF, JPEG, TGA and BMP and multi channel audio!

The TGA, JPEG etc single frame formats are supported for stills.
What's the application you are using to generate these? If you are dealing with motion video, can you use one of the many video codecs, ProRes, DNxHD etc?

Hi,
We are using resolve 9 for digital movie production. Normally what we will do is multiple dpx motion files to quicktime render and encode with our own software. We get some times tga multiple motion frames for reel wise, i need to generate quicktime mov. But resolve 9 is not accepting tga. Please help me. I am converting tga motion frames to tiff frames using xnview and again converting in to quicktime in resolve.

Yeah, TGA is not supported as a multi image sequence format in Resolve. So you will either need to convert it to a movie or to a format that supports image sequenceing in resolve. Basically exactly what you are doing.

Hi,

When we will get tga, tiff and jpeg multi image sequence format support? This is very important feature and it is mentioned in your website supporting these formats, based on that we have purchased 3 resolves.

Resolve is not supporting 5.1 audio tracks also. We are using only dpx to mov conversion only.

We are using 3 resolves for Digital Movie production. Scratch is supporting all the formats including tga, tiff, jpeg and jpeg2k. We are planning for this. If you can give support we can stick to resolve and planning to buy few more. Scratch is supporting 5.1 audio also. We are evaluating scratch also.

Could you please provide some details what's the issue with 5.1 audio tracks? Do you want to render out 5.1 or playback 5.1?

Hi Srinivas, Resolve can import a multichannel wave file (.wav) and sync with a video clip. For us to help please detail the steps you are using, the audio file type and spec etc as its not clear to us what is not working for you.
I tested multichannel audio support here with DPX files and it works in my test.

Also, we do support tiff sequences should your VFX be in that format.
