Macbookpro Retina / Resolve 9 / Ultrastudio 3D / ext. GPU

PostTue Oct 02, 2012 5:13 pm

Hi !

I want to take a Magma ExpressBox 3T and connect it via Thunderbolt to accelerate ARRI RAW debayer
on the Macbook Pro. Prores Material is running fine with the internal GPU on a high speed, but ARRI RAW
needs a lot more power. Is it possible to connect the external PCIe Box via Thunderbolt and getting additional
speed when I put in there a fast card? Would Resolve use this card in this external enclosure???

I have also connected a Pegasus RAID and a Ultrastudio 3D for SDI on the Thunderbolt...

thx for help

There is no opportunity for GPU via Thunderbolt at the moment. There are no drivers and the current Thunderbolt speed is ideal for I/O and disk but not GPU use. With the US 3D and Pegasus it sounds like you have the right config for the rMBP.
