Anyone have a juiced link and BMPCC?

PostFri Nov 01, 2013 6:20 am

I'm considering a juicedlink for mine. Was wondering if anyone could do a quick audio clarity test with this combo.

No levels - if you're contemplating this, why not look at Zoom?

Some of the bigger more expensive ones have levels. I don't want to deal with the syncing workflow.

But the levels only show the incoming signal of your Riggy, not what the camera is recording.

I shot "The One" with a JuicedLink BMC366 and recorded in the BMPC, if you want tho hear how that sounds:

Ahh gotcha. And yes, seen that vid before, just watched it again paying attention to the audio. Do I hear a noise floor fading in and out during the talking parts? audio gate of sorts? What is your opinion on the setup Frank.

The audio was fine from a technical point of view.

The problem was, we had a ton of fridges there - each with his own hum - that we where not allowed to turn off.

So we had to jump trough audio post hoops to get rid of the different hums as far as possible, without hurting dialog, and overlay the whole shebang again with a single hum. A guy from UK (DuckSound) jumped in and cleaned up the mess for us, since my audio is not my first language, and I can only do so much.

I really like the BMC366 - gives you nice clean audio and has a small footprint on my rig.
My setup is usually: Riggy at about 50% and camera at 35%-40% mic level.
