Help with Intensity Shuttle USB 3.0 please

PostSun Nov 24, 2013 4:14 am

Hi All,

Have done most of the reading etc so not sure what I have missed.

I have an ASUS Z9 PE-D8 WS board with an Intel 3930K cpu. I purchased a VANTEC USB pcie USB 3.0 controller card with the necessary NEC / RENESAS chipset so I can bypass the onboard USB 3.0 which has the ASMEDIA driver which is not usable with the Shuttle.

Can't seem to get them to talk to the Intensity.

A couple of times it started to load the driver but then defaults at trying to find 2 x "pci simple communications controller"

Any help appreciated....My system is in my Signature below..

best regards,

Duncan

Well it could be the USB 3 driver you are using for the card, or it could be the USB 3 card itself. What driver version is it using, and what chipset does it say it is? There are 3 major Renesas USB 3 versions, and depending on which one it is and which driver you use can affect how well it works.
I assume you also connected power tot he power socket on the card. Yo could also try installing it in a different socket
