Resolve 10 + intensity Pro = Resolve crashes on boot [win7]

I've posted about this before and received no help so I'm posting again and hopefully I can get some assistance on this.

I'm relatively new to Resolve and I also understand that the intensity pro is not an officially supported piece of hardware in Resolve, that said I'd still love to get it working.

Here is what I've done so far.

I installed Design Desktop Video 9.8 for windows.

I set it up as so:

Then I went to Resolve 10 and I chose the "intensity pro" as my play back device.

I saved the setting and was told to restart Resolve. When I do this happens

It opens up fine. Sees all my project files. I can begin to load one up. It will load..

and then the second it goes to open up the whole interface it crashes...



The only way I can stop it from crashing constantly is to log in as a guest and start a new project. It won't crash when that happens and then I can go back to the Resolve settings and turn off the intensity pro as the play back device. If however I log in as a guest and start a new project it will crash the second I load a clip into the project.

If there is any way this can be sorted I'd be super grateful!

Forgot to mention I haven't been able to test the card in any other set ups BUT I was able to plug in a camera via HDMI in and was able to successfully use Media Express to record directly from the camera so I believe the card does work.

Final note, this also happened in Resolve 9 and Resolve 10B3.

Can u try the release version 10?

I was beginning to think I was the only one.
This issue seems to have improved slightly with the final release.

It used to lock up my system totaly generally every third time I loaded Resolve. Intermittent.
If I kept on rebooting before loading Resolve mostly Ok.
I have some ideas but no time right now to explain.

I am getting the ODD sync BOB errors in Avid Symphony.

I can confirm this as well.Sporadically crashes the moment it lands on the media screen after loading a project. It seems this has emerged after the v10 upgrade, no issues with v9.

Thanks for the response. I'm on the most recent version of Resolve (10). I also had the same problems in Resolve 9.1.6 and Resolve 10 beta3. Never has the chance to test it out on older versions of Resolve as I'm quite a new user.

I'm also on the most up to date version of Desktop Video (9.8) and I'm also on win7 SP1 and my Nvidia drivers are all up to date.

My system specs are

AMD 1055t
16gb RAM
Nvidia 760 GTX 4GB
OS and apps all boot from a 120gb intel SSD.

Not sure if that stuff would make any difference. Besides this problem I find Resolve 10 to be A LOT more stable than version 9 where I would get random crashes quite often. Resolve 10 seems to be very solid on my system. Just would love to sort out this play back issue.

I got these instructions from Justin Moy at newmagic and it seems to have solved half the problem:

1. Backup/export your database and projects
2. Uninstall Resolve
3. Delete the folder C:\ProgramData\Blackmagic Design\DaVinci Resolve\
4. Reboot
5. Reinstall Resolve
6. Upon first startup of Resolve, check the preferences to enable the Intensity Pro for output
7. Restart Resolve when prompted
8. Start a brand new project and see if you can get output

Seems like you need a completely fresh install and have the intensity pro card installed in the computer when you install Resolve. Now resolve loads fine and doesn't crash, though I'm still not getting an image out of it... which is extra strange because the intensity pro card works fine when I play a clip through Black Magic Media Express.
