Resolve download issues

PostSun Jan 05, 2014 10:41 pm

I had a ton of problems with Resolve 10. I see there is a .2 and I was going to try and download it and see if my problems have been resolved.

I actually was going to try with 10.1 however, the download button does nothing. This is a microcosm of what I think some are frustrated with when it comes to BM. The download buttons are not disabled which they should be if there is info you need to enter before they are enabled.

You fill out everything on the page, click the download or Register & Download and nothing happens.

Tried with IE, Chrome & FireFox. Had this problem in the past but eventually if I kept going back it would eventually work.

Now it doesn't work period. Tried from a windows 8 computer and some Windows 7 Virtual Machines.

IE is versus 11. BM, please address the issue and make try to follow the standards of webpages as far as user experience are concerned.

If you don't have a button disabled, a user clicks it but something is missing, then inform them what's missing.

Thanks.

You don't need to fill anything in. Just click the download button.

Download works fine for me. It might be a javascript error on your end.

Here is the direct link in the meantime (I'm sure an admin will delete it if this is in appropriate):

Adam,

Thanks for the link. Any issue is going to be BM not testing the pages for multiple browsers. I don't see any indications for javascript errors but I'll go back and enable the debug option in IE and see if I get anything and post it if there are.

The javascript error that comes up clicking the download button is.

_doPostBack is undefined

_doPostBack('ct100$ct100$ct100$ct100$ContentPlaceHolderDefault$CpContent$CpStandard$SupportRegister_4$BtnDownloadNow', '')

This happens on the latest version of IE 11. Firefox 26 - Chrome 31.0.1650.63 m

A small company trying to do a lot of big things... somethings gonna fall through the cranks... overall I think they do pretty well but there are things that could be better.

Been I loooooooong time since I coded any web pages of JS. Could be that the external java scripts files have not loaded into the page yet.

Let the dev team look into it, I'm sure they have heaps to do after the festive break. ;-)

Don't think so. I'm a .Net developer and do javascript when we have to but a _doPostBack how a aspx to my knowledge does a postback to the server.

You wouldn't have this in a pure html/javascript environment to my knowledge because true html and javascript is stateless on the server. (I think.)

Anyway, I've had this problem for a while now. It's been on multiple machines to make sure it's not a development setting on one of my workstations.

Hi Adam,
I'm terribly sorry to trouble you but...
I used your link on the Blackmagic forum that you very kindly posted to download DaVinci resolve. When I tried to run it I was blocked by a message saying that I didn't have a license or a dongle to allow me to use the software. I purchased a BMPCC and have registered on-line, who or where can I register to use Resolve please?
Kindest regards Ray
PS I'm working on a PC running Windows 7

You need the Lite version. You have downloaded the full version that needs the license dongle.

http://www.blackmagicdesign.com/support

Select Windows/ DaVinci Resolve/Resolve Lite/

Then fill in the form and click download.

Hi folks

Need some help. I just bought a second hand Black Magic Cinema camera with the davinci resolve 9 software (on 2 disks, is that right?) and the dongle is included. I have a late 2012 slimline iMac, 3.4ghz, 16gb ram and it is intel core i7, version 10.8.5.

So I buy the superdrive to install the disc/s - and on the download window I get as far as the 'Destination Select' window and I can't go any further. All i get is a yellow (warning) triangle alongside my mac HD icon and this message:

'DaVinci Resolve can't be installed on this disk. An error occurred while evaluating Javascript for the package'.

I have no clue what this means. Oh and the dongle isn't being recognised on the computer either!

Any help or a large hammer would be nice :)

Conor, as I replied in the email, bin the discs, the versions on the discs are old.

Download the latest versions here: http://www.blackmagicdesign.com/support/

All you need is the USB dongle, it's your license. It's not "seen" by the Mac. It's read by Resolve when you launch Resolve. Nothing mounts or shows up in your finder.
