XML: File name issue? Resolve imports only one cDNG sequence

PostMon Jan 06, 2014 9:31 pm

Hi everyone,

I am currently grading someone's music video that was shot on a 5D Mark III with Magic Lantern RAW and I am having some trouble importing the XML of an edit exported from Premiere Pro CC (latest sub version) without source clips.

If I choose to "Automatically import source clips into media pool", everything works fine and the proxies are transferred over. However, if I choose not to import the source clips, so that the clips relink with the original Cinema DNG files, the timeline looks like there's an edit on it, but every single clip on the timeline is actually just the same DNG sequence. I have a feeling this is due to a file name issue – anyone got an idea what might be the problem?

To give an example, the Cinema DNG files for one of the clips are in a folder called
M14-1124_C0000

The sequence starts with
M14-1124_C0000_00000.dng

And the proxy file name is
M14-1124_C0000.mov

Can anyone see anything wrong with the file name that would cause Resolve to think that every clip on the timeline is just one clip? The file names of the other DNG sequences always start with M14-XXXX_C0000 with XXXX being a variable number.

post the data page (screenshot), i think you do not have the tape ID setup hence all timecode start form 00:00:00:00 making it too many clips with the same timecode/tape id combination.

I know there was a bug with Premiere CC where it was not exporting Reelnames into XMLs - it could be the case with the version of premiere you're using? What reelname options are you trying in Resolve with the source material?
