It's great that Blackmagic has added support for JPEG 2000 in Resolve 10, but support seems to be limited to outputting for DCP setups. JPEG 2000 isn't just good for DCP, though. I use 16-bit JPEG 2000 sequences for all my intermediaries; they're nearly-transparent at ~95% quality and a third the size of OpenEXR or TIF sequences.
All that would need to be added for full support of JPEG 2000 would be letting the user set the resolution to "custom" when outputting JPEG 2000, allowing the quality to be adjusted (simple PSNR scale), and allowing the color space to be assigned manually. I understand the need for presets to ensure compliance with DCP specs, but I think these additional options would be beneficial to many workflows as well.
Thoughts?
