Resolve 10 footage formats

PostMon Jan 20, 2014 9:43 pm

Hi,

I'm setting up a project from an .edl in resolve and there are multiple file formats included in the project, and resolve only sees one file type.

Cameras used were Alexa, Sony F3, and 5d Mkiii.

So I have prores from alexa, MP4 from F3 and h.264 .mov files from DSLR.

Imported all footage into the media pool, added the .edl and all it sees are the alexa files. The Mkiii files have the red film strip with the crosshatch through it, and the F3 files are just black.

Any idea what's going on??

Thanks in advance!

Codec and file type support for Resolve is a laugh really, no direct support for most cameras. You have to buy BMCC or Red, or something that records prores, forget anything Sony. BMD are way way behind even free crummy edit apps in this respect.

I disagree, we do projects with Sony (raw) and Alexa (raw) and scans from arri/imagica... (a side the format you mentioned).

If the database is solid, there is no problem at all with resolve.

I don't think this is not a codec support issue. Seems more like a timecode and reel name issue.

All those codec are supported in Resolve.

You might have to manually conform those clips. How long is the edit? How many clips are missing links?
