Sync Multiple Audio Clips to One Video

PostSun Jan 26, 2014 11:32 pm

I am trying to sync audio in DaVinci Resolve 10 with timecode. The timecode matches up but the sound guy stopped/started at times while the camera rolled. The Sync-Audio based on timecode feature only takes one of the audio clips and attaches it to the video so only part of the video has sound. For some clips, there are 3 audio files and the timecode seems to continue through the next clip but there is a separate file name.

Is there anyway to fix this or work around it? Am I doing something wrong?

Hi MJM,

Did you try the "Sync audio from timecode and APPEND audiotracks" option.
(You can find it under the right mousebutton in the mediapool)

I am note sure if it will work. I don't have to use this feature too often.
But maybe appending in stead of linking the audiotracks gives you all of the audio tracks.

I hope this will help you.
Maybe you can post back if it does.

Kind regards,
Remco

Using resolve 15.2.2 (paid). I am attempting to sync and attach 5 audio tracks (4 lavs, one boom) to my clip with timecode.

I selected all the audio and the single clip and I selected sync audio->timecode and append.

This suggestion did not work for me. I would manually attach the audio to the clip if I could figure that out. Would also need to have to be able to auto sync it as well.

This is the exact thing I'm trying to do. Append multiple audio files to one video clip.
I have the exact same situation multiple lavs and one boom.

The problem is when you try to manually sync the audio files together.

Did you ever figure how to do this?

Thanks.

This is a new feature only available in 17, which is currently available as a Public Beta.
My Biases:

You NEED training.
You NEED a desktop.
You NEED a calibrated (non-computer) display.

To follow on this, if I had multiple audio clips from a take, and I wanted to sync them with a video clip that had audio, I would use the Auto Sync and append tracks.
But if for some reason that isn't working (it's not able to do it it says), I can sync them manually by using the Waveform manual sync method.
But I'm finding when I do that, I can't sync multiple audio tracks. Is there a way to manually append multiple tracks to a video clip?
Thank you.

This is the exact thing I've been looking for but can't seem to figure out how to do.
Has anyone figured a way on how to do this?
