SDI -> Multichannel (5.1+) Analog Out

PostTue Nov 07, 2023 4:21 pm

Is there anything out there that Blackmagic makes (or someone else) that will take an inbound SDI signal (1080p HDR from a Blackmagic DNxIO or DNxIQ's SDI output) and de-embed the audio to at least 5.1 analog audio output? SDI loop out would be helpful as well to pass it along, but not 100% necessary if we can compensate for latency.

I don't think they have a product that converts SDI with 6 (really at least 8) analog audio out.

We have used the APANTAC SDI AUDIO DE EMBEDDER. 16 channels but only up to 1080. I think there is a 12G version now.

Remember this is only a de-embedder. It will not convert encoded Dolby or any other encoded audio.

The dnxio will downres to 3g on ports 3 and 4.
If you can find a multibridge eclipse it has enough analog ports i think
Better to go aes though.
The three letter, rhymes with badger, higher quality component company makes a few deembedders, do sonifex.
Generally not cheap though
