OS 10.8.5 Decklink Extreme 4k Desktop Video 10 FCP 7.0.3

PostWed Feb 26, 2014 7:22 pm

Running into an error while on 10.8.5 with Decklink Extreme 4k, Desktop Video 10 and FCP 7.0.3. When I boot up Final Cut Pro it tells me im missing BM Audio and I just change my easy setup to BMD Pro Res 422 HQ change the audio settings to the not (missing) BM Audio and I can play my sequence out just fine. Except when I stop it unexpectedly quits out:

Specs:
OS 10.8.5
3.33 GHz 6-Core Intel Xeon
12GB 1333 DDR3
4k Extreme - SDI Out to Flanders and Panasonic Plasma
FCP 7.0.3

For the time being I am going to downgrade back to desktop Video 9 (the latest version) as that was working.

So just downgraded to 9.9.3 then 9.9.1 then the version on the disk that came with the 4K Extreme card which was 9.7.5 and no luck. I then remembered there was a firmware patch from BM to the card. I cant seem to find those anywhere? Its not recognizing the card.

Downgraded to a few different versions and now its not being recognized at all. Installed the version from the disk which is 9.7.5 and no luck either. Im assuming the firmware update isnt compatible with anything under desktop version 10.0?

Have you tried re-seating the card in the slot or another? Also, are you having that same issue in Media Express?

After uninstalling desktop video, re-seating the card, installing the disk version 9.7.5 and updating the prompted update from BM the card was finally being recognized.
I then upgraded to 9.9.3 updated the decklink card once again when prompted and everything now works.
No crashing in FCP 7.0.3.

Seems like a lot of people are having issue's with Desktop Video 10. Hopefully there's an updated version soon!

Yeah, I realized that a little too late. My major concern was getting the card back to a working order on FCP 7. We edit on a lot of different platforms and we still need the tools to dig up the billion year old dinosaur people refer to as FCP 7. ;)

Did the combo work? Was it stable?

DeskLink Extreme 4K
Desktop Video 9.9.2
Mac OS 10.8.5
FCP 7.0.3

It would be really good to know.

Thanks,
Alex
