Cloud dock 2 - NOT suitable for 15mm form factor U.2

The cloud dock 2 (and I assume also 4 disk version) can not handle the standard 15mm form factor of U.2 disks [1]. They are about 1mm higher. This is a design flaw and a fail. It is a common size of disk and it is in no place in the manual or website, that this is not possible.
