Cloud Dock mount anonymous from Linux

PostFri Mar 29, 2024 5:38 am

Have a Cloud Dock 2 and can connect from MacOS (Finder) and from Linux desktop (smbclient and Dolphin) using anonymous Guest logon and can copy files over.

However have not been able to get the correct incantation for mount.cifs, it always returns:
Code: Select all
CIFS: Status code returned 0xc000006d STATUS_LOGON_FAILURE
CIFS: VFS: \\10.1.1.10 Send error in SessSetup = -13
CIFS: VFS: cifs_mount failed w/return code = -13

The mount options I have tried, are variations of;
Code: Select all
mount -t cifs //10.1.1.10/disk1 /mnt/blackmagic/disk1  -o guest,nounix,sec=none

What I've noticed is that smbclient fails authentication at first, then retries with NTLMSSP_ANONYMOUS, but I can't see anything like that with mount.cifs. Also the Cloud Dock Setup application on MacOS when connected with USB-C doesn't show a Security tab, my thinking being that if I can create a username/password then I can at least use that.
