Multiple timeline versions linking with remote versions

I need to deliver to versions of the same film, 1 foreign and 1 domestic, which have some different edits, and I am getting separate XML`s for them.
If I grade the foreign version, all my grades will later on link up to the domestic version also, based on my Master Timeline Media Pool.
But if I have multiple Cuts from 1 Media source, I have to add multiple remote versions to those clips, which now do Not link over to the next sequence. Only Version 1 will link.
Is this correct ? What would be the best workflow ?
This same issue would apply for round tripping workflows.
