Resolve or FCPX for color work in Prores?

PostWed Apr 23, 2014 2:43 pm

I am editing a six one hour episode series all shot on the BMCC in Prores film mode. I use FCPX for editing.

Would there be any advantage doing color work in Resolve rather than staying in FCPX? Would I improve the color corrections and final color grade significantly using Resolve?

I ask because I planned to get to final edit in FCPX then output to Resolve for all color work - corrections and grading. Thanks.

Final color is only as good a the colorist driving the board, regardless of the tool.
If you have a good colorist, Resolve is more adapt to the task... (it is a color corrector, not an editing system with some color tools...)
