Decklink Pro PCI Card in Mac Pro

PostSat Nov 03, 2012 3:47 am

Hey there,

I have a Decklink Pro PCI Video Editing Card.

It has the PCI connection that suits the old PowerMac G5 (PCI-66/33MHz).

I've recently got a Mac Pro 2.8Ghz dual core system, which has a slightly different PCI connection.

Is there any way I could use the Decklink card in my Mac Pro?

Thanks

Unfortunately all newer MACs have PCIe slots , so you can not use it anymore.
One possibility is to build a Hackintosh system and use a motherboard with a PCI slot.
(I was able to use it under Lion and FCP, Resolve Lite, but not 100% stable)

Maybe you can sell the card to someone with a PC. It will still work under Windows XP.

Thanks for that Jaap.

Yes that's what I was afraid of. A shame as I would have loved to use it on this system with FCP...

I happen to have an old Win XP system, though not sure how I'd find a use putting it in that system these days...

Looks like it might be an Ebay job...
