Feature request - MXF support

With FCPx supporting MXF and smoke 2013 also. For roundtripping it would help to be able to acces the non trancoded footage for grading.

Hi, could you be a little more specific, we already support a number of mxf formats so which one are you referring too?

Hello Peter,

Panasonic HPX171 mxf. When I edit in FCP and I export the XML on arrival in Resolve I import and it tries to connect, but it doesn't recognize the MXF as a source. All MXF files are red.

Greetings,
Jeffrey

Hi, ok now that makes sense. The P2 format can carry DVCPro, DVCProHD and AVC Intra 50/10 codecs in an MXF container. Resolve currently supports a limited DVCPro list of codecs and these are via the .mov container when you have Apples codec installed. Supporting more DVC and AVC formats is on our list but we don't have it currently scheduled.
All I can suggest is to use a .mov container and test to establish a format that suits.

Hello Peter,

Thank you for the response. It is a pity, because this forces a person to create duplicates of all the media needed. I currently shoot with DVCPRO HD 720p 25PN.

Thank you peter for your quick response.

Kind regards,
Jeffrey
