Render Cache

PostWed Nov 07, 2012 8:00 pm

Hello there!

I need a little help here!
I've read the manual about the Render Cache, because my GPU is not very fast, and doesn't seem to work very well. I marked a clip for render cache and then I selected the Render Cache for "user". When the percentage went to 100% I hit play. It doesn't play in real time. Is there something I'm doing wrong?
When using the GPU my graded clip plays at 12fps.

I'm running Davinci Lite 9.0.3 on:

Intel I7 950 3.07Gh
256GB RAM
GeForce 8800 GTX
Windows 7 64bits

Thank you very much!

Render Cache creates DPX files at the timeline resolution. I would suspect you do not have adequate storage bandwidth to play back the HD DPX cache frames in real time.
