Linux Ubuntu 12.04

PostWed Jul 23, 2014 7:51 pm

Hi,

I have DeckLink Studio 4K card install in 12 Windows machines - Works great.

However we decided to get it work under Linux due to some issues we have, So I decided to give it a try with Ubuntu 12.04 & 14.04 without any luck

Here some info:

$lspci -v

The installation went without any errors. I even manage to install the bmdtools/ using the Blackmagic-DeckLink-SDK-10.1.1/.

However nothing I do give me a stream input.
On windows the same card works OK!

I looked in the UDEV rules files and as far as I know it also seems to me good.

Using MediaExpress also give me a BlackScreen no matter what I do.

I was hoping I can revert to Blackmagic_Desktop_Video_Linux_9.8.tar.gz but this also failed. The card was never found. Even when I switched to Ubuntu 10.10 amd64 results was the same. I guess it is sue to the firmware upgrade which I did when I was first install the card under the ubuntu 12.04.

What do I miss here? We want to get 20 more card like this but we need to use Linux. Seems to me strange that the release notes say it is supported - where it actually not.

I called the support - and they give me no answer.

Anymore ?

Thank you.

Hi Sassy,

I have same issue. HDMI input is not working on Ubuntu 12.04 but my 4X Extreme works well.
I have updated firmware of my 2 studio 4k cards with linux and even on windows I have a black screen.
I wonder if this is not a firmware issue, could you tell me how you updated your card and if you tried the same card on windows & linux?

Thanks,
Jerome.
