Intensity Shuttle USB 3.0 - flashes on output

PostTue Nov 13, 2012 11:36 am

HDMI video output has frequent flashes (on playback or on pause) that seem to be frame-size. Is this a known issue? If not, what could be the problem?

System Details:
- Sony Vaio F-series - VPCF237FX
- Premiere Pro CS6
- Intensity Shuttle USB 3.0

What I did:
- update Adobe Pr CS6 from 6.0 to 6.03 (plus all other CS6 updates)
- Windows update
- Blackmagic Design Desktop Software update to 9.6.8 (from 9.6.4)
- Renesas USB 3.0 driver - to 2.1.28 (from 2.0.32)
- update Adobe Pr to enable GPU acceleration (GPU Sniffer + cuda supported cards)
- NVidia Driver update to 306.97 (from 268.93)
- test GPU acceleration in Pr CS6

None of this seemed to have affected the issue.

Any ideas?

Thanks!

Hi,

This means that the outbound bandwidth is not enough. This happens when the USB 3.0 bus is shared with other resources and does not get the full bandwidth that USB 3.0 is meant to provide.

Hi Kristian

I'm having a similar problem. Is there a way to free up bandwidth for the USB 3.0? I'm using a PCIe Usb 3.0 card with the Renasas controller and most recent drivers. I find it's ok with Avid and 8bit colour but anything 10bit from Da Vinci resolve lite and the playback is very choppy on the external monitor making it unusable for colour work. Should I use a different USB 3.0 card?
