Decklink SDI doesn't work with win7

PostSun Dec 02, 2012 5:07 pm

Hello,

First I apologize for my English and thank this forum for help.

I have just buy an blackmagic decklink SDI to capture 10 bit 4:2:2 signal coming from my panasonic Ag-f101.

My OS is windows 7, my mother board is an ASUS M4A89GTD PRO/USB3, and i have test to connect the decklink card to both the PCIe 2.0 x4 and x1 port. Firstly i have installed the driver provided in the installation cd, i.e desktop 9_6.4, after reboot the firmware update failed an no capture was possible. Then i have manually installed the last one, 9_6.8, but the message firmware update failed persists, and no signal capture is possible. I have used mediaexpress, adobe premiere but noone detects any input signal comming from my cam. Moreover some options are locked in blackmagic control panel.

I have tested to install it within the same pc but under my linux "ubuntu" boot, and it works perfectly.

My conclusion is there is a probleme with windows 7, someone has any knowledge about this problem, and the way to solve it?

Thanks you very much.

When you go to install the Blackmagic software, make sure to right-click the executable, and click on "Run as administrator".

Also, under Device Manager, is it even listing the Decklink card?

I don't have the option "run as administrator" when i right-click on the icon, nevertheless i have installed it using administrator comand line mode.

For my device manager let see the attached screen print.

Hi,

I have the same problem on my computer,
If i plug it on the first PCI express (16X), it works (Normally is my graphic card there).
When i plug it on another one (also 16x) it does not work: I have the same error as you :blackdisplay and it seems correctly installed as in your hardware manager.

=>Maybe you should try another port if you have one.
=> Try to contact the support: they answer very fast with many proposal.

Thanks for you response.

I haven't tested the decklink card with the 16x port since, as you, it is the one of my graphic card, so in every cases it couldn't be acceptable to unplugged my graphic card to use the decklink one. But, i have tested it on the 1x and 4x and it works perfectly on linux, that is why i am desapointed. It is not a materiel problem.

The support said me to update the deckling firmware within an other pc and then plug it back in my pc... Strange response, isn't it. I have tested it but in the other pc (intel for information, and old dual core), no update is required and it works well....

So win7 is the problem?

Incredible! I find I have found it!

Motherboard Intel DH77EB.

In BIOS

Advanced>Power>PCIe ASPM Support Disable

When Disable, then DeckLink works in slot PCIe x1

SUPER!
