Black screen when capture

PostTue Dec 11, 2012 11:57 pm

I have a Decklink Quad installed on a Dell R610. When I use Blackmagic Media Express to capture from any of the 4 incoming SDI channels, all I get is black screen.

Video source is coming from a BNC cable, and I bought a few BNC to DIN 1.0/2.3 converter for it.

I also have an NVIDIA GeForce 8400 GS installed on the server, but as soon as I connect the BNC video source to the Decklink Quad, the monitor connected to this card turned black, and I couldn't see anything else. I would have to use the onboard Matrox video card to be able to see the output on the monitor.

I have disabled the GeForce card and uninstalled all the NVIDIA drivers, but I still have issues with capturing video: only get black screen.

Information about my server:
OS: Windows 2008 R2
Build: Dell Poweredge r610 server
Processor: dual Intel X5570
Memory: 24 GB

Please help.

Sorry your post has not been answered.
Not sure I can help though.

You have quite a mix and combination of problem and new technoligies.
People are having enough problems with the older technologies.

Dell, history of people having problems. Avid forum.
Win 8, why when people have still not sorted Win 7 out yet.
( Drivers, drivers and drivers. )

What BMdesign drivers are you using.

Hopefully this is all MUMBO JUMBO and you have it working now!

One question. Are you setting the video input under the BM setting app, under control panel? My intensity does not auto sense the video source on the input. You need to tell the input what video source is be fed. If you do not do this you will get nothing but black screen, but the device is technically working fine.

Just a thought.
