UltraStudio Mini Recorder issue

Hi,

I've experienced some issues with my "mini recorder".

My current setup is:
MBPr 2.7
Gopro hero3 (black)
mini recorder (HDMI)

The issue:
When I start up the camera I get a better image for a couple of seconds, then it flickers for a second before it seems to "blur" or distort/compress the signal. Is this a h264-thing?

The difference is pretty major. It kind of looks SD.

Is it possible to keep the first, undistorted feed?

I also want to add that I've found out that this example is with the QT-drivers.

In the case of using the BM-drivers the flicker is still there, resulting in the same post-flicker result.

The difference with the BM-driver is better latency, but a pre-flicker image that looks worse than in QT.

Is this to be expected?
Can anyone explain?

Another update on my research:

Recently tried my setup with a GoPro Hero3 (white) and this model did not display any of the glitch which I experienced with my GoPro Hero3 (black).

This could be because of a production error and I will explore this further.

But what I've also been thinkin that the reason might be that the Black edition might have a higher transfer-bitrate and a different chip for solving streaming.

An other difference is that which the white edition I get more functional choices of resolution, and the menu system shows thru the signal.

If anybody at BMD can give me their feedback on this it would be greatly appreciated.
