UltraStudio Mini Monitor dropping frames in FCP7

PostWed Jan 09, 2013 8:57 pm

I just got the UltraStudio Mini Monitor and it seems to run great with Premiere, FCPX, and Resolve. In FCP7 (what I use the most) it drops frames constantly. If I switch the audio playback from Blackmagic to built-in dropping frames seems to stop (but the audio is out of sync). This happens in multiple projects playing back ProRES on a 12TB pegasus thunderbolt RAID. Running Mountain Lion and the 9.6.9 Blackmagic drivers.

thanks in advance

Jesse

I'm having the same problem - so far the only workaround is to play the audio through the built-in output, and trying to manually offset the audio to sync with the picture.

Same clips play fine through the blackmagic tool, and Adobe Premiere, but final cut is dropping frames like crazy when the audio output is turned on.

Have you had any luck?

No luck on my end. Reinstalled Mountain Lion but no change. Crossing fingers for a fix. Maybe 10.8.3 will jiggle something loose?

I downgraded to 9.6.8 this morning and from what I can tell FCP7 is no longer dropping frames. Fingers crossed
