Intensity Pro 4K & Avid: Broken with Desktop Video 10.5

PostTue Oct 06, 2015 4:44 am

Gidday all,

When we attempted to install our new Intensity Pro 4K with Desktop Video 10.5 it was weirdly broken... frames were playing at maybe 25% of their normal speed while sound ran as normal, so getting further and further out of sync.

Reverting to Desktop 10.4.3 removed this issue.

Is it just us experiencing this strange problem? I'd really like to be using the newer version if possible in hopes it addresses some other bugs we're seeing, but obviously can't without a fix for this.

Thanks!

Hi Tony,

The title of your post says it all - Desktop Video 10.5 is broken with Avid.

We run a test suite here, so we can test new software versions before we roll out an update to all our suites, and 10.5 just plain sucks with Avid.

Fingers crossed that 10.5.1 is better.

I'm seeing a different type of issue. I get really bad tearing of the image through the Decklink Extreme 3D. Some of the tearing is a second ahead or a few frames ahead, some of it is behind. It's completely messed up. I reverted back to 10.4.3 and that works fine.

EDIT: I'm on a Mac.. 10.10.4

I've been getting this error in AVID 8.4.2 with the Decklink Mini Monitor, using both 10.4.3 and 10.5.

Monitor Exception:
* Exception: SFPlayConsumer::Execute TIMEOUT

PlayerHostThread::CheckForExceptions: Exception: SFPlayConsumer::Execute TIMEOUT
Monitor Exception:
* Exception: SFPlayConsumer::Execute TIMEOUT

Exception caught in APlayer::Play - Exception: SFPlayConsumer::Execute TIMEOUT
ERROR: VDM3BOBVideoOut::Cleanup() - BOB has not displayed frame after 2000 ms! (enabled = true)
ERROR: VDM3BOBVideoOut::Cleanup() - BOB has not displayed frame after 2000 ms! (enabled = true)
ERROR: VDM3BOBVideoOut::Cleanup() - BOB has not displayed frame after 2000 ms! (enabled = true)

10.5 is more stable in terms of creating title and render media. But the above error happens fairly often. 10.4.3, however, also gets the following error:

Exception caught in APlayer::Play - Exception: FATAL_ERROR, msg:Assertion failed: 0 <= slot && slot < mNumSamps, file:..\..\src\RequestList.cpp, line:1146

Anyone else here experiencing this?
