FCPX Crash with Mini Monitor. Desktop Video 10.5.4

I have this error while working in FCPX 10.2.2 since I upgraded to 10.5.4:

I was hopeful for this update as I also use Media Composer, which has had serous playback issues with all previous versions of Desktop Video 10.5. 10.4.1 was the last stable MC release. I was hopeful 10.5.4 might have solved these Media Composer issues, as related in the release notes.

Any ideas?

I have found all recent versions of Desktop video for FCPX crash it hard and often. The last sort of stable version is 10.4.3 for me. I am using Ultrastudio Express and FCP-X 10.2.2. Sure wish they would address this.

Experiencing the same crashes with Desktop Video 10.5.4. This is with a DeckLink Mini Monitor PCie, MacPro 5,1 OSX 10.10.5 and FCPX 10.2.2
Before this upgrade I was on DV 10.5 and that was stable. I've retrograded to DV 10.5.3 for the time being, and so far it's stable.

Same problem for me. I wonder if it's an El Capitan thing?

Regardless, I'd love a fix for it.

It's still happening with 10.6. Very disappointing. How can this bug keep getting through testing?

I have the same problem, FCPX crashes with both mini monitor and ultrastudio 3d. I can't use either of them at the moment and have to rely on the HDMI output from the mac for monitoring.

I tried rolling back to 10.5.3 but crashing still happens.

Reported to blackmagic technicians but they say they can't recreate the problem.

10.6.1 is no better. iMac late 2012 on El Cap. FCP X and ultra studio express. Just crashes hard every few minutes. Useless. Good price on AJA t-tap at BH Photo right now.

it always crash every mouse movement.
Just move mouse pointer with skimming turned on and will crash every time!
or simply click on time ruler without stop playback on fcpx and it will crash again and again..
