FCPX crashing with dektop video

PostTue Apr 26, 2016 11:03 am

Hi All

We have a Retina i-mac running FCPX 10.2.3 and an Ultrastudio Express connected via Thunderbolt with Desktop Video 10.6.4. (The i-mac is on El-Capitan 10.11.4)

We are all used to FCPX crashing occasionally, but recently we are finding Final Cut is crashing repeatedly (many times per day). However if we uninstall the Blackmagic driver and run without the broadcast monitor the crashing problem stops completely.

Oddly, we also have an identical i-mac running an Ultra Studio 4K with the same 10.6.4 drivers, and on this machine FCPX (almost) never crashes..?

Does anyone have any ideas about this?

Thanks

I've got the same issue,

had it for a while. I reported it after the last driver because it was still happening.

If you disable AV output in FCPX the crashing also stops

Hi

Yes, the problem started for us with the driver version 10.6.4 and the previous version.

Another editor here read somewhere (not sure where, sorry) that the problem could be fixed by reverting to an earlier driver version - 10.4.3.

We tried this and so far no crashes...

Hi, that was me.

But I'm still on Yosemite.
Don't know if 10.4.3 does work on El Cap...
