Slight lag on HDMI Client Monitor

PostThu Nov 17, 2016 5:08 pm

On my Decklink Ultra Studio, I have a Sony TV hooked up via HDMI playing out of Avid 8.6.3. 1080p23.98.

There is a 3-4 frame lag between Avid and the TV. Possible to fix this?

If the TV has a 'game' mode you could try setting it to that

That didn't work. Just gave it that really fluid look.

Anyone else have any thoughts on this? Is that slight lag just the result of using HDMI instead of an SDI connection?

Is the TV having to do any scaling to display that signal? Could explain the delay if so.

We use the 12G Decklink SDI 4K Pro to drive a Sony X9000B 4K Client TV from SDI #1 (with a 6G SDI to HDMI converter right at the set) and a Grading monitor from SDI #2 output, using an SDI to Display Port converter. In our case, there is zero lag in either video or audio between the two.

I suggest you use a single SDI feed out of your Decklink then split it off to each device as required.

Will try this. Thank you.
