HyperDeck studio have problems with the audio in recording

PostTue Feb 21, 2017 5:37 pm

Hello, I have 4 HyperDeck studio and I have problems with the audio in recording, the embedders I use only record 2 audios and when playing the recorded in the HyperDeck studio the other 14 audios that record have clack clack sound, to edit I have no problem for I delete them but if I play directly in vlcplayer or quicktime it sounds like it plays all the audios and many customers believe that this bad record and I have to warn them to play only the first audios, it's a nuisance. Can it be solved in any way ??
Thank you.

Can't you change setting to include just 2 audio channels?
Sound like bug. Is there new firmware for HyperDeck? If not, write to BM support- this needs fixing.

On our HyperDeck 12G running 4.4.4 there's no option to disable extra channels, which is annoying.

RTX 3090
DeckLink 4K Extreme 12G
Resolve Studio 17.4.1

Hmmm...quick fix with ffmpeg is best option in this case.
If there would be 16x mono tracks then you could disable/delete them with QT 7, but as far as I remember it's 1x16 channels track, so nothing can be done without re-wrap.
If channels are there but silent it's half the issue (still can cause problems), but when instead of the silence you have noise then this is bad.

The ability to not record all those audio channels has long been a request for the Hyperdecks.
I use switch to rewrap the files if they are going "directly" to a client....although I do not get noise on the empty channels, I just hate having unused audio channels in my files.

They also often cause issues as some software don't like 16 channels single audio tracks. This should be actually changed to 16x mono tracks, which is better supported. Ideally you should be able to set 2,4,8,..,16 channels- is this that much work to implement?

Just commented about this on another thread; the Hyperdeck Studio Mini lets you do this, tested last week.

Good news.
Can you offload files over ftp as well as put files into internal storage?
