Fullscreen View of Live-Signal via Ultrastudio Express???

PostMon Sep 03, 2012 3:39 pm

Hey there,

I am a DIT and just bought a Ultrastudio Express to see the live video of a video camera (Alexa) on my MBP Retina for focus checking. Unfortunatly the only working solution until now is using wirecast. The bad thing is the delay the program is giving.
Does anybody know another possibillity of having a fullscreen liveview via Ultrastudio?
Also testet Davinci, Premiere, Final Cut and Media Express but everyone has a small window for capture.

Thanks in forward!!

Regards.

You will always see a delay during capture when using a hardware > bus > software process. Best bet is to put a monitor on the loop out or between the camera and capture box

Of cause, I know. But this 1s delay is absolutely software based. I worked with AJA IOXT on an older MBP and I had about 100ms. Apart from that I actually could life with 1s, but this Wirecast is just not the right thing.
I mean it should be so easy just to monitor the incoming signal.

Maybe someone knows something in that direction?

Thanks in forward.

I think Adobe OnLocation would've been perfect but dont think its available anymore

I still think your best bet is to use another monitor and let the computer do what its doing - capture the footage reliably
