decklink mini monitor for resolve editing

PostSun Mar 26, 2017 6:55 pm

Hello,
I am new to Resolve and coming from years of using Premiere. I would like to have a fullscreen view of the video on my timeline. It appears that I will need hardware for this? Which card would be best for my needs? Decklink mini monitor, mini monitor 4k, intensity pro 4k?

Not sure if this matters, but most of what I edit are 4k .MOV's from a GH4 camera. My system specs are i7 6800k, GTX 1070, 32 GB Ram, all SSD's. Using a Dell Ultrasharp (UP2516D).

Would this card also help preview footage in Premiere? I am switching from Premiere because it drops so many frames when toggling between 4k footage on my timeline. I have spent weeks on Adobe forums, tweaking settings, and feel my current system specs should be able to handle this. I downloaded Resolve and it was not dropping frames when playing the same footage?

Any help/suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Bryan
