No signal with Intensity Shuttle Thunderbolt

Hoping someone can help -- our Intensity Shuttle Thunderbolt hasn't been working consistently since last week, and there's no real rhyme or reason to it.

System specs are:
Mac OS 10.11.3
Desktop Video 10.8.6 (was on 10.8.4 when the problem started)

Currently, even if I can get the shuttle to be detected, I can't get it to see any video (or audio) output. (In the past week, any time it HAS seen an output signal -- after restarting, wiggling cords, etc -- it goes out again after I shut the system off overnight. There's no pattern to when it works or doesn't.) I even brought a brand-new shuttle last week, to no success.

Any ideas? I tried installing a much older version of Desktop Video, but the installer gives me an odd error message about needing to be in an OS newer than 10.6 -- which I am, of course.
