Micro HDMI to SDI not working with non-BM converter

Hello,
Our organization recently purchased 2 BM Micro SDI to HDMI and 1 Micro HMDI to SDI converters.
Our intent is to use them connect an HDMI laptop source and display the content on 6 large monitors in our lobby. We currently have 1 generic HDMI to SDI converter, 1 generic SDI 4x splitter and 4 generic SDI to HDMI converters.
We are slowly improving our production quality for clients which is why chose to start the migration to Blackmagic equipment.
When we use the BM HDMI to SDI converter with the BM SDI to HDMI converters we have zero issues. If we use any of our generic SDI to HDMI converters with the BM HDMI to SDI converter we either get no signal or green scrambled screens.
When we use our generic HDMI to SDI converter to both the BM SDI to HDMI and the generic SDI to HDMI converts we have zero issues. The content displays correctly on all 6 screens.
Has anyone else run into this issue?
Does anyone know why this is happening?
Please help me understand if you have any information.
THANKS!!!
