Want to try DaVinci Resolve. Depends on AVID iLok.

I just aimed at a free Video Editor.

I am — not — good in Video.

I am more musician.

That is why I got ProToolsHD and an iLok.

I lost the iLok.

About to get a new one.

But the first start of DaVinciResolve shut down with the message, the iLok is missing.

Especially the license for Structure.

Which is a sampler.

Can you explain me the connection between AVID Products and DaVinci Resolve, please.

What do I need a Dongle for in the free, from App Store downloaded version.
