Convert from Uncompressed to ProRes

PostThu Jun 08, 2017 3:24 pm

Hello. I work at a seminary and we record many classes using BM Media Express. I had a student inadvertently record a series of classes in the Uncompressed 8-Bit YUV, 1920 x 1080 7.55 FPS. Is there a way to convert these files into Progress 422, 1920 x 1080 29.95 FPS? When played back in QT they appear to be strobed. ???????? Thanks!

If the file is actually 7.55 FPS, it's not going to get better.

It's quite hard to record 8-bit Uncompressed QT at 7.55fps in Media Express without drilling down into the settings. How on earth did he/she manage that?

I'd guess the low frame rate is due to many dropped frames. If this is the case then recovery will be impossible. Is stepping through the clip frame-by-frame smooth or jumpy?

If the audio is good, you could create a "slide show" type of production, using select "stills" from what was captured.
