Intensity Pro 4K Idle Mode

PostThu Jun 15, 2017 2:34 pm

I just picked this up to capture 1080P video from a video camera that is running 24/7. At night when it gets dark the card goes into idle mode and blacks out the screen (or last frame if I choose that).

The only way for me to get the video started back up is to power cycle the camera (hard to reach location) or unplug the HDMI cable and plug it back in.

How can I disable this option completely so it is capturing all the time even if the input signal is black or doesn't change.

Thank you,

Andy

This doesn't sound like a setting on the card itself but possibly either the camera that does something to stop transmitting the signal, or a setting on the computer that goes into sleep/screen saver mode.

I have two of the exact same cameras in use, the other is on another manufacture's USB capture device. Neither camera exhibits this issue with that capture device. Both cameras have the same issue with the IP 4K.

There is no idle mode on the capture devices so there is something else in play that's causing the signal loss.

I should be correctly calling it "Idle Output" as mentioned on page 16 of the manual, not "Idle Mode".

The card still shows HDMI input in the utility, but gives the black screen until I restart or unplug the camera. When I am using the camera it seems to work fine with no issues. It is just when it sits idle overnight.

Thanks Tony,

Andy
