"Future Proof" 10 bit IPS display for late 2014 MacBook Pro

PostSat Jul 01, 2017 3:51 pm

Looking for a new monitor for my MacBook Pro Retina (late 2014). Currently using Apple Thunderbolt cinema display with Flanders CM 171. I've had such a headache with flickering and color inaccuracy with the cinema display. Not sure if I should look into USB C display and connect with Thunderbolt to USB C converter until I upgrade my computer. I've surfed the forum and didn't come up on any recommendations - hoping someone has some insight. Thanks!

Hi Justin,

I know that this post is very old, but did you manage to buy this 10-bit display?

Do you still have your MacBook? Does it support 10-bit?

You can confirm that by going to System Report > Graphics / Displays - you should see 30-bit in "Framebuffer Depth" instead of 24-bit.
